Write a letter to your parents telling them what's going on in your life... that they should know about and don't

Dear Mom and Dad,

I have a secret. Please don't get mad, because it's important. I'm pregnant. I know it isn't music to your ears. It wasn't music to mine either. I found out three months ago. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. The problem is that I don't know who the father is.

I know, I know. I'm only 14. I'm still young and I have my whole life ahead of me. That's why I'm getting an abortion. I have all the money, so don't worry about that. I just can't ruin my life and have a baby.

This is probably going to break your heart, but it breaks mine more to tell you. Again, I'm very sorry and I should have listened to you, but I promise this will never happen again.

Love Always,
Your Devoted Daughter

Dear Dad,

I hope you see that I'm maturing into a beautiful young woman. As I develop and blossom, I will continuously try things and test the waters. Maybe the choices I've made and will soon make are ones that you disagree with, but I'm my own person and breathe my own breaths.

Before you became an adult, you were a teenager, and more likely than not, you defied your own parents. I hope that you don't view the fact that I'm dating as disrespectful because I've done it behind your back. It's just that I know you wouldn't approve because you always said, "Your school books must be your boyfriends."

So now you should know that I went against that saying. I've already been in love, and I've had my heart broken. I understand that you want what's best for your baby girl, but I have to learn alone. You must let me go from under your wings because you won't always be there to guide me.

Daddy, don't worry. I have a good head on my shoulders and I know right from wrong. I will make decisions that are in my best interest.

Love,
Your Daughter
