Age of consent should be just that. If the person is above the age of consent it should not matter who they have sex with. If the age of consent is 16 I see no difference with them having sex with someone who is 17 years, 11 months, 28 days; and someone who is 18 years and 1 day. I think that the problem is with parents that try to have the legal system put restraints on their children instead of raising children that have self restraint. And to those who think I have never raised children, I have 6, all doing well. When did we as a society completely abdicate personal responsibility? And as my last point, why do so many people think that there is such a difference between males & females? Are we raising our daughters in such a manner that they are less able to make wise decisions? We claim to want our sons and daughters to be treated equally but our comments and actions indicate that we really don't believe that they are equal.
