There was a desire to go a little further, and knowing she had been with an older man when she was still illegal, I asked to verify her date of birth. As it turns out, she was 8 days from being 18. I am 30, my wife is 29. So I told her it was a federal crime to talk about, or transmit sexual related material to a person under the age of 18 via the internet, and if she would like to continue she would need to wait until her birthday. I also agreed that until then I could talk to her about her day or whatever as long as I was not talking to her about sexual topics.

I know 8 days isn't a long time, however I am a stickler for the law.

Anyhow, my wife pointed out to her that I was not allowed to talk to her about sexual topics, but that there was no law that said she could not talk to me about them, so she decided to get very graphic sending me IM's over yahoo. I did not respond to her comments.

Now it is still 4 days away, and she is going to call today.

Is it illegal to discuss adult topics over the phone?
It is illegal for her to talk to me while I don't respond on yahoo?

Other things to note. Her state age of consent is 17. Mine is 16. She is sending words only, no nude photos.
