Every state has different "age of consent" and "statutory rape" laws. Our "Answer Board" is divided up by state. We post answers to questions from all 50 United States.

A conviction for having sex with someone under the statutory age of consent may translate to jail time and mandatory registration as a sex offender on the National and State Sex Offender Registry. Sex laws should be taken seriously whether you are still a minor or a legal adult.
