WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM PENALTY FOR STATUTORY RAPE IN COLORADO

In Colorado, the crime of statutory rape can fall under a few different laws ranging in severity. Determining which law(s) has been violated will depend on the age of the minor, the age of the perpetrator, whether the meeting was initiated over the internet, the intent of the perpetrators actions (predatory) and much more.

Penalties can range from probation and a fine for a first offense, to a sentence of several years in jail. To narrow down a maximum sentence of imprisonment or the fine would require knowledge of the class of felony or misdemeanor.
