PARENT CONSENT

I AM A 19 YEAR OLD FEMALE AND I AM INTERESTED IN A 16 YEAR OLD MALE. I WANTED TO KNOW IF I GOT HIS MOTHER'S CONSENT IN WRITING WILL I BE ABLE TO DATE HIM LEGALLY AND NOT GO TO JAIL.
I REALLY AM STARTING TO LIKE THIS YOUNG MAN AND REALLY WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY WAY WE CAN DATE.

There is no law to prevent a 19 year old from dating a a 16 year old as long as no sexual contact takes place.

Texas state law says the age of consent for sexual contact is 17. Parental consent, written or stated, will not over-ride state law in Texas.
