I am an 18 year old boy who had sex with a girl who told me she was 17. Well after that happened I realized I didn't really want to be with her and when I told her that she said that she is really only 14 and that she is now pregnant even though she also told me she was on birth control. I am so scared now that I am going to be in trouble even though I was completely lied to. What can I do ?

I'm 16 turning 17 in 3 months, the guy I'm talking to right now is 21 turning 22 in 2 weeks.... I don't want to get him in trouble... So at 16 if I chose to have sex would that get him in trouble... It probably won't happen... We both know we want to go very slow on this, but we're both worried that someone will say we did something that we didn't, or that maybe we actually do, do something.... But if we wait till I'm 17 are we okay to do what we want??? I'm going to try to avoid telling my Mom his age... Or do I have to tell her the truth??

No you can not go to jail!! Here in Ohio the legal age to have sex with anyone is 16. So as long as she is 16 or older your ok. Anyone that tells you something else is just trying to scare you.

I'm in a very similar situation as well. I'm 29 and my girlfriend is 16. I'm divorced and have 3 kids. She used to be my babysitter when I was married and has been a very good friend of the family for 5 years. We started dating when she was still 15 even though I tried to push her away for a while. Sounds weird but we don't care. She has assured me this whole time that I didn't pressure her into anything and she knows what she wants. I think we work good because I'm can be quite immature for my age and she's more mature than a typical 16 year old. We are so in love and don't let it bother us what other people think. She makes me so happy and blessed to have found someone that I can love again. Her mom was fine with it for a long time and was going to sign for her to get married soon but has recently changed her mind. She wants her to wait till she's 18 to be sure it's what she really wants to do. But we don't think she's going to make us wait that long....well we hope not.
I have been looking into a lot of Ohio's laws on this situation and I guess since 16 is the age of consent it shouldn't be a major problem anymore. I've never heard that the parents can press charges and it be called corruption of a minor. I don't doubt it but I didn't really worry about that because her mom doesn't really care and her dad isn't in her life.
I know it's been a while since you wrote this but I am very curious as to what has happened since you're 18 now and if it worked out. I truly believe when it comes to love age is no boundary.

I am 15 years old born in January of 95' and I know yes I am young. I am a male... so this is more peculiar and possibly quite different. The *female* I wish to see is 19 years old born October of 90'. The age difference between us is 4 years. I want to know if she would be breaking the law by engaging in sexual activity with me. I also want to know what would get us into trouble. I do not know and do not believe anybody i know of would press charges upon us, and because of this would there be no conflict. I also want to know all information specific to OHIO and up to recent date (I have seen different versions of law on the net as far back as 61' and I have seen them referred to). As much of the information I will give is that we are both highly interested in one another, neither are against us being sexually active (with the exception of the reason being the law), my parents are not against it, and this is a case I have seen where the male is the younger of the two. The age of consent in Ohio is i believe to be 16. I know that there is or was a law that pertained to 4 years. I know that the law was made because it could corrupt a minor and of coarse everyone is against and older man raping a little girl. I am quite mature but i know the laws are only relating to ages and occupations. Finally, laws are meant to keep people out of harm and certainly other reasons, but in these cases to keep the victims out of harm. Since I would not be harmed in any way, would that be part of a decent argument? I do not believe I have any other information that I need to add other than that in your responses you label what is actual law and what your opinion is. I would like to know both.

Pretty sure there is a closeness in age clause that applies to the revised age of consent law. For minors under the age of 16, it is not punishable if it is consentual and the other participating minor is within 4 years of age relative to the other ones age. They should be fine according to the Romeo and Juliet Clause.

Hello,
my name is Amanda and I am 17 years old. I adore my boyfriend I love him to death I have known him my whole life. he is been a friend of the family for forever. I would do anything for him in this world. he has two kids from his pervious marrage. now my family kinda know we are together and then again I am not going to admit to them anything because he is 28 years old and i dont want him in any kind of trouble. for those of you saying ewh he is to old her her , then you have never been in love. Everyone is always telling me he has two kids he has his life planned out for him I just think to myself oh well ya know I have never been this happy and I dont see how my parents cant see how happy I am. I have grown to hate them because of what they are doing, my mother is talking about pressing charges on him and I dont want that for his boys because i love them like there my own. My parents think I am a BAD Girl but honestly im not I got a full time job and also going to school im going to be going to school in june to become a nurse. I will be 18 in may but I do not want to hide something that is very important to me from them for that long I got like 8 months and 13 days till I turn 18. Why cant they see that I am sooo happy? I know alot of you are going to say your just a kid you dont need to be in that kind of mess but I have been through alot in the past 2 years. I have taken care of my father for the past year and a half he overdosed in may 2008 and was in a coma for 9 day then after he left from ---- ---- he went to a rehabilitation center from June 1 till August 1 and I was by his side everyday all day long. I helped the therapists with teaching him to breathe on his own, eat, walk and talk. Ya know it changes your whole out look on life when your changing your 31 year old fathers diaper. on top of that I was with a guy names ryan from the time i was 13 to 17 he lived with me and everything. He got another girl pregnant while he was living with me. I was hurt over that for a few months but now I have found the one man I want to be with for the rest of my life. can somebody please help me I just want to be happy. I need some advice on what I should do?

Yes unfortunatly he can I am in the same boat only reverse i am 27 and dating a 16 year old she is my life we have known each almost a year and we have not gone a day without talking i was almost thrown in jail because her father was going to press charges but she convinced him not to so i got lucky.
since he is more than 4 years older than u it is still a felony for him to be with u in anyway exspecially sexual the law states that 16 is the age of consent but a parent or legal guardian of the minor can press charges it is not considered rape it is now called corruption of a minor
i hope this helped because u really sound like u are in love and nothing should stop love from happening
